Patricia Canney is a Minneapolis artist who paints the places and people from her own world and experience, mostly garments, interiors, and still lifes. She received her BA from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Studio Art. After two years in the Peace Corps in West Africa, she came back to Minneapolis to work in television graphics, advertising and graphic design. She returned to fine art with pen, ink and watercolor, and took her first oil painting workshop with Kim English in 1999. She has a studio in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District and travels and paints in the U.S. and Europe, most recently in Italy, France and the Czech Republic. Her work has been featured in American Art Collector and Southwest Art magazines and at galleries across the country.
