Nina Weiss is a landscape artist whose interest in the subject began when she moved from the crowded, urban East Coast in 1980 to the Midwest, where the vast horizons inspired her. Her appreciation for the power of the landscape there coupled with her love of color informed her large-scale paintings then, and continues to today.
Whenever she can, Nina travels to sketch and photograph landscapes, capturing images she can bring back to her studio in Chicago for inspiration. From there, she teaches painting throughout the year and takes students to Europe every summer for her European Landscape Workshops.
Nina’s work is represented in private and corporate collections throughout the United States, as well as in two Hollywood films, a TV series, and several books.
Here are a few examples of her work.
